Greetings!
The beginning of summer finds us continuing to grow and in fact, we’re expanding so much that we’re hiring. If you’re passionate about software quality, then we want to talk to you! For more information about our needs, see the last article below.
Earlier this month, the Pragmatic Programmers published their newest book entitled No Fluff Just Stuff Anthology: The 2006 Edition and chapter four, entitled "Test Categorization Techniques" is written by me! In this chapter, I demonstrate how build times can become more manageable by segregating developer tests into three categories: unit, component, and system. By doing so, various test groups can be run at different frequencies and thus, builds won’t take an eternity to complete!
We’re pleased to announce our newest interview with Allen Wick, who founded the CruiseControl config project. We’ve been fascinated with the Continuous Integration ecosystem, which has spawned a host of tools from entire CI platforms to value adding tools such as Allan’s project and we think you’ll find this interview interesting.
Lastly, we’re excited to release The Stelligent Early Quality Podcast Series, which is a new series of short podcasts related to early quality techniques and solutions. This month’s podcast is on Continuous Integration. If you have five minutes, have a listen! Hopefully you’ll have as much fun as we had making it!
Sincerely,
Andrew Glover
