Stelligent Introduces Ambient Orb Ant Task Project on QualityLabs.org
RESTON, VA -- July 20, 2006 -- Stelligent Incorporated, the leader in early testing solutions that eliminate quality guesswork and guarantees defect-resistant code, announced today that they are hosting the open source Ambient Orb Ant task project at Quality Labs.
Quality Labs, which is sponsored by Stelligent, is a development and distribution environment for the open-source community with the goal of further expanding projects and forums dedicated to enhancing software quality. Quality Labs is platform agnostic and strongly believes in the benefits of open source, hence all Quality Labs projects have business-friendly licensing.
Steve Matyas of 5AM Solutions and Paul Duvall of Stelligent developed an Ambient Orb Ant task that changes the Orb color in response to the build status. For instance, if an integration build is successful, the Orb color may turn to green or, if it fails, the color red. The colors aren’t limited to red and green. By using this Ant task you can easily configure your build script to transition between hundreds of combinations of colors and animations based on certain conditions - such as if you are exceeding your code duplication percentage threshold.
The Ant task, hosted at Quality Labs, listens for build events and changes the color/animation of your Ambient Orb based on the build event status. You may also modify the Orb color/animation based on user-defined events (for example, failed inspections). You may download the Ambient Orb Ant task here. Supporting documentation and a short video clip demonstrating the installation and configuration are available to help you better monitor your software quality.
