NDbUnit and Maven Plug-ins Launched as First Projects
RESTON, VA -- February 13, 2006 -- JNetDirect and its consulting services subsidiary, Stelligent Incorporated, announced today that they have established Quality Labs,
a development and distribution environment for the open source
community to further expand projects and forums dedicated to enhancing
software quality.
One of the first projects established is NDbUnit, a .NET framework for simplifying unit testing of code which relies on a database.
“NDbUnit provides a solution for controlling a database dependency
within applications by putting a database into a known, stable state
between test runs,” stated Andrew Glover, CTO of JNetDirect.
“We believe there is a need for a site dedicated solely to offering
tools, discussion and advice on improving software quality” added Burke
Cox, CEO of JNetDirect. “Some organizations have implemented testing
and quality procedures to eliminate code problems and some have even
established QA teams; however, many software projects have a hit or
miss approach to quality. With Quality Labs, we hope to become a
central point for innovative projects that improve code quality and a
place to discuss these important topics.”
Along with NDbUnit, two Apache Maven plug-ins have been donated to Quality Labs: a plug-in for FIT that enables Maven projects to run FIT tests automatically and a Java2HTML Maven plug-in, which produces HTML from a Java project’s source code. JNetDirect will also be donating Convergence,
a quality management dashboard that enables tracking of application
quality early in the software development life-cycle, to all Quality
Labs projects.
